SXU is named on U.S. Report & World News 2019 rankings of best colleges as "Best Regional University", "Best Value School", and "Top 10 Most Diverse".

Graham Peck, history professor at SXU, was recently featured in the Beverly Patch for winning the 2018 Russell P. Strange Memorial Book of the Year Award from the Illinois State Historical Society.

​SXU alumnus Jim O'Donnell is the senior investigative producer at NBC10 and T62 in Philadelphia, managing the investigative and consumer teams. O'Donnell will speak to students interested in a career in media on Friday September 7 at 10 a.m. in the Fourth Floor Board Room in Warde Academic Center.
