Saint Xavier University was founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy and is a private, Catholic, four-year, coeducational institution that provides a transformative educational experience to more than 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students who are prepared to become compassionate leaders in their field of study and their communities. Keith Elder, Ph.D., President
Keith Elder, Ph.D., is the president of Saint Xavier University and is a mission-driven educator committed to institutional success. With 20 years of service in higher education, Elder brings extensive leadership experience to the University and has served in a wide variety of administrative and academic roles. He is an active scholar commitment to evidence-based research that will help inform health programs, policy and delivery. Elder looks forward to working with the student-centered, mission-focused community. He is eager to help build upon Saint Xavier's stellar reputation and continue opening doors to bright futures.

- SXU's Comprehensive, Aligned Supports for Attainment (CASA) initiative strengthens the University's capacity to enhance educational outcomes by eliminating equity gaps and increasing retention and graduation rates for Latinx, low-income and other historically underserved student groups and supporting a University-wide framework to enhance curricular and co-curricular programs through high-impact educational experiences.
- The Enlace grant, SXU's second Title V grant, builds on CASA by integrating multicultural competency, equity awareness and learning-centered strategies in and outside of the classroom.
- Conexiones enables SXU to implement streamlined developmental math offerings; professional mentoring for computer science students; computer science internship/externship funds to support students in unpaid internships; supplemental instruction videos and a STEM academic success coach to provide additional support; and professional development for faculty and staff on inclusive pedagogy.

- For over 60 years, SXU's on-campus Ludden Speech and Language Clinic has served thousands of children and adults with communication disorders and offers hands-on, high-impact observation and learning opportunities for communication sciences and disorders students.

- In 2022, SXU's esports team won the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) Divisional Championship.
