SXU to Host 2026 Homecoming
Saint Xavier University (SXU) will host its annual weeklong Homecoming celebration with a variety of events for faculty, staff, students, alumni and the community beginning Saturday, October 3. The week will culminate on Saturday, October 10, as the SXU Cougars take on Lawrence Tech (Mich.).
On Saturday, October 3, SXU will host an Alumni Soccer Day on Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field. Men's soccer will play at 1:30 p.m. and women's soccer will play at 4:30 p.m. Alumni are invited to join the SXU community for the games and enjoy hospitality from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the SXU tailgate tent.
On Monday, October 5, students can get game day ready in the Butler Reception Room at noon. Attendees can customize jeans, shirts, crewnecks, or hats with SXU patches and more and enjoy some fudge puppies while they create their perfect game day look.
On Tuesday, October 6, special for Homecoming, SXU is bringing the drive-in to students on campus! Students will learn how to use an FM transmitter to listen to the movie from the comfort of their own cars and enjoy a full concession with popcorn, candy, and hot chocolate.
On Wednesday, October 7, the community is invited to celebrate Mass at McDonough Chapel at noon.
Later in the day, on the Schmitt Quad at 2 p.m., the SXU community can attend Once Upon a Fair to shop, eat and explore! Attendees will find local vendors, food, shopping, and fun activities.
Thursday, October 8, faculty, staff and students can sign up to play head-to-head in a basketball-style tournament or come cheer on the players.
Later in the day, SXU alumna Lisa Guardiola ’12 will share stress management coping techniques for everyday life in the Butler Reception Room at 6 p.m. To attend, please register.
On Friday, October 9, at 6 p.m., alumni are invited to return to their SXU home court and reconnect with former teammates, coaches, and friends at the SXU women's and men's basketball alumni events.
A favorite annual tradition for students, the Bonfire, will be held at 7 p.m. along with the RSO parade. Stick around for performances by SXU's cheer, dance, and Cougarettes teams, music and free food.
At 7:30 p.m., all are welcome to enjoy the talents of fellow alum and soprano Dorothy Hill as she returns to the McGuire Hall stage for an evening of classical and contemporary music.
Wear your SXU gear and head to Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field for a noon kickoff on Saturday, October 10! The Alumni Tailgate Tent opens at 11 a.m. The first 100 alumni to check in on game day will receive free SXU Alumni swag.
Earlier on Saturday, alumni can also join in on an alumni baseball game at 9 a.m. on Richard R. Ferrell Memorial Field or a women's volleyball game at 11 a.m. in the Shannon Center.
