SXU to Host 2026 Community Wellness and Resource Fair

Saint Xavier University (SXU) will host its second Community Wellness and Resource Fair on Thursday, September 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Shannon Athletic and Convocation Center. Local community members and SXU students, staff, faculty, families and alumni of all ages are invited to come together for a day of health, wellness and connection.
Last year, more than 50 vendors and over 200 faculty, staff, students and community members attended the event. Hosted by SXU's Office of Family and Community Engagement, the Community Health Fair aims to promote health education, connect individuals with vital resources, and raise awareness about local resources, especially for populations that may face barriers to care or information.
Through free screenings, informative workshops, and meaningful community engagement, the University's goal is to foster healthier lives, build stronger connections, and provide hope and support for a thriving, informed, and resilient community. The fair will provide consultations, health evaluations, and demonstrations that benefit attendees and promote community businesses, offering an opportunity for clinics, organizations, and healthcare providers to showcase their services and connect with the local community.
"We hope that you can join us at Saint Xavier University's Community Wellness and Resource Fair, where wellness, support, and connection come together. Together, we will discover local resources, enjoy free health services, and take a step toward a healthier, stronger community!" said Manal Kanaan, Ed.D., Director of Family and Student Support.
Some of the vendors attending this year's fair include Gilda's Club Chicago, Life Goes On, Illinois Department of Human Services, Hope Center Foundation, OSF Healthcare, Crisis Center for South Suburbia, Illinois Department on Aging, Roots of Resilience, Community Blood Center, Evergreen Park Fire Department, and more.
Rooted in the Catholic and Mercy tradition of service and compassion, the event directly supports and furthers the Saint Xavier mission in several ways, including demonstrating Mercy values through compassionate service, promoting justice by addressing health inequities, enriching student learning through community-based experiences, strengthening bonds with the local community through hospitality, and encouraging lifelong learning and wellness. All are invited to attend and get on a path to wellness.
