At the conclusion of the fall athletic regular season, several Saint Xavier University (SXU) student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom through the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Thirty-three student-athletes from the men's cross country team, men's soccer team, women's cross country team, women's soccer team, and women's volleyball team were named to the CCAC All-Academic Teams.

To be eligible, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.25 or higher and be enrolled at the University for a calendar year.

The women's volleyball team had the most selections with 13. The men's and women's soccer teams combined for 12 representatives, six each, while the men's and women's cross country teams had eight honorees combined.

In addition, 36 student-athletes who participated in fall sports between football, men's cross country, men's soccer, women's cross country, women's soccer, and women's volleyball were named Fall NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

To be eligible, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and be enrolled at the University for a calendar year.

The football team had the most honorees with 11, followed by 10 from the women's volleyball team, eight combined from men's soccer (five) and women's soccer (three), and seven combined selections between men's (five) and women's cross country (two).

These academic achievements by SXU students are a testament to the University's rigorous academic and athletic standards. From day one on campus, SXU athletes are expected to remain in good academic standing with the University. Each student-athlete must adhere to the rules and regulations of their sport to participate.

"The dedication and commitment demonstrated by our student-athletes, who have not only excelled in their respective sports but have also achieved impressive academic honors, is truly inspiring. Their hard work and perseverance remind us of the incredible potential that lies within the balance of athletics and academics, and I am immensely proud of these exceptional individuals, who represent the best of SXU," said Dean Caress, Ph.D., provost.
