Saint Xavier University (SXU) softball player Aubrey Wroble has been awarded NAIA All-American honors after the conclusion of the NAIA Softball World Series. Wroble earned a spot on the NAIA All-American Third Team, but this wasn't her first accolade this year.

As a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Gold Glove winner and a two-time CCAC Player of the Week in 2025, she broke her single-season team batting average record, becoming the first player in SXU history to bat over .500 in a season, finishing with a .516 average. She also had an on-base percentage of .500 for the second consecutive season at .525 while slugging .523. With 80 hits on the season, Wroble became just the third player in program history to collect 80 or more hits in a year.

Achieving such a record as a sophomore, the outfielder never expected the level of success she would have in college, but her short time at SXU has transformed her as both a player and a scholar.

"It feels pretty surreal [to be an NAIA All-American]. I struggled with the sport for a bit before coming to college, so I never thought I would achieve any accolades, let alone be named an All-American. My goal is always to be a better player than the year prior, so I'm proud that I've been achieving that goal so far in my collegiate career," Wroble said.

Being an All-American doesn't just mean doing well on the field. Students must be in good academic standing to be considered for the honor. With a busy schedule that keeps her on the field, Wroble still makes it a priority to excel in her communication studies, with a dream of entering either public relations or social media after graduation. The class structures at SXU have significantly helped her academic success thus far.

"With my major, many online classes are offered, so when we are in season, I always try to enroll in those so that I am not missing anything," Wroble said. "I've been lucky enough not to have to miss any practices or stress about missing classes with the way my class schedule has been structured the last two years."

With two years left to still excel at SXU, the lessons she's learned will stick with her well past her collegiate career. SXU softball has improved her mental game while her classes have taught her to be an expert in time management.

"I've seen myself progress immensely since being at SXU," Wroble said. "As an athlete, my mental game has gotten so much better. I used to have severe anxiety with the sport, but I have learned to be confident in my abilities and to relax and have fun at the plate. As a student, I have come to understand the importance of time management, particularly since many of my assignments involve essays or research projects. Time management is also crucial for athletes."
