SXU Honors Faculty, Staff and Students at 11th Annual African American Achievement Awards
Saint Xavier University (SXU) recently honored faculty, staff and students at the 11th Annual African American Gold Star Achievement Awards, which recognize the contributions and achievements of the African American community at SXU, whose dedication to academics, service, athletics, and excellence was highlighted throughout the ceremony.
"The African American Achievement Gold Star Awards was a beautiful event that lifted us. We thank all involved in making the ceremony a success and the recipients for their passion, care, and everything that they do to uplift our community," said the Office of Family and Community Engagement staff.
Students, faculty, staff and their families came together in the Butler Reception Room to celebrate and uplift one another.
2025 African American Achievement Award Recipients
The Outstanding First-Year Student Award is given to a first-year student who has gone above and beyond in their leadership and campus involvement.
Award Recipient: Ericka Arrington
The Outstanding Sophomore Student Award recognizes an outstanding sophomore who has demonstrated exceptional leadership involvement within their organization, on campus and in their community.
Award Recipient: Jarvis Partee
The Outstanding Junior Student Award honors a junior student who is dedicated to service and leadership on and off campus.
Award Recipient: Tashena Hughes
The Outstanding Senior Student Award commends an outstanding senior for their incredible leadership on campus and within their community.
Award Recipient: Johnnetta Washington
The Outstanding Graduate Student Award recognizes a graduate student who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and involvement on and off campus.
Award Recipient: Amari Dixon
The Outstanding Student Leader Award honors an individual who has made significant, valuable contributions to campus through their position of leadership.
Award Recipient: Gavin Dudley
The Outstanding Student-Athlete Award is given to a student-athlete who makes contributions through leadership both on and off the field.
Award Recipient: Nia Martin
The Outstanding Staff Award recognizes an invaluable staff member who offers support and guidance to the Saint Xavier community through exceptional leadership.
Award Recipient: Mercedes Green
The Outstanding Service Award recognizes a student for great achievements in service to the SXU community.
Award Recipient:Elizabeth George
The Distinguished Artist Award is presented to two individuals who have with outstanding creative abilities who celebrate their culture through their work.
