Saint Xavier University (SXU) will host a variety of student engagement opportunities for the 2024 fall semester. Students will learn from diverse professionals and participate in insightful experiences that will enrich their knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and create networking connections.

This fall, the Chicago White Sox Game Changers series, which celebrates diversity in sports, will focus on the differing and unique experiences of under-represented communities in sports through the lens of photographers. The collection will be on display at Guaranteed Rate Field during the 2024 season. SXU art and photography students will have the opportunity to shadow the Game Changers series photographers and are encouraged to take their own photos in the process.

The Game Changers Summit, held at Guaranteed Rate Field, is a networking event that will feature a Q&A session with a panel of diverse established and emerging leaders influencing change through sports, including moderator Sasha-Ann Simons, host of Reset with Sasha-Ann Simons, and panelists Brandon Thompson, vice president of Diversity and Inclusion for NASCAR; Kreig Robinson, director of DEI & Belonging Programs for 23XI Racing; Marc Wilson, executive director of Strategic Inclusion for FCB Chicago; and Salvador Mendoza, vice president of Diversity and Inclusion for NBC Universal.

Hispanic Heritage Night with the Chicago Fire will be held at Soldier Field. Before the 7:30 p.m. game, students will meet with a Chicago Fire representative to learn about their careers.

"Active learning experiences like those created for Saint Xavier students through our marketing partnerships are invaluable because they provide students with exposure to individuals within organizations who share real-world experiences with students that deepen and enhance their understanding beyond the classroom. Learning about real-world applications of classroom concepts help students to not only grasp the material more effectively but also understand pathways and networking skills essential for their future success," said Deb Rapacz, vice president of marketing and communication.
