SXU Student Spotlight: Brogan Hayes
Saint Xavier University (SXU) communication senior Brogan Hayes is making the most of his time as an SXU student, and he's certain his well-rounded, active involvement on campus will help him to excel in the future.
Hayes chose SXU because of the feeling of community he got while on campus.
"The environment, students, faculty and staff at SXU make me feel welcomed and accepted as part of the campus family," said Hayes.
Hayes feels well-prepared to enter his career and is appreciative that his classes focus on contemporary, real-life topics and scenarios.
"In my classes, I've learned about interpersonal communication. In today's society, digital communication and social media are becoming increasingly important. My classes have helped me to understand how interpersonal relationships can influence daily life," said Hayes.
The support and resources Hayes has received from faculty and peers have made a lasting impact on him.
"I've enjoyed meeting students who have become good friends and the professors and staff who have guided me the past four years," said Hayes.
Hayes is very involved in campus, serving as a member of Campus Ministry, a residence hall representative, and a student leader at Cougar Trax. As he looks forward to entering his senior year, he thinks back fondly on some of his favorite memories.
"I've enjoyed attending football games, Homecoming, and spring formal. I like being part of social activities around campus," said Hayes. "Showing school spirit is important to me. I actively participate in athletic events and proudly cheer for SXU. Go Cougars!"
In the future, Hayes plans to become a sports broadcaster.
