SXU Celebrates the Holiday Season
Throughout the month of December, Saint Xavier University (SXU) celebrated the holiday season. Close camaraderie among faculty, staff and students is a hallmark of the institution, and the community enjoyed gathering together and sharing the holiday spirit.
Students kicked things off in early December with a "Polar Express" watch party hosted by resident assistants.
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) hosted their annual holiday bash featuring a hot chocolate bar, gingerbread cookie decorating contest, and other sweet treats. Students entered into a raffle to win prizes.
SXU's music ensembles came together to perform holiday favorites at the annual Christmas Spectacular, a beautiful event that the community looks forward to every year. The University Band, University Chorale, Jazz Band, Commercial Band, Chamber Ensembles and more came together to perform holiday favorites.
Faculty, staff and students joined Staff Council in decorating the tree outside the Butler Reception Room, sharing a cozy sense of warmth and camaraderie as they hung homemade ornaments.
Staff Council continued the Christmas spirit with the annual holiday party hosted in the Butler Reception Room. With live music from SXU's commercial band, Fish 'n' Chips, glittering decorations adorned across the room, and a joyful holiday spirit, the community connected merrily.
SXU President Elder and Champ got in the spirit with a special holiday message. "During this season, as we celebrate, remember and give thanks for the birth of Jesus Christ, we pray you are surrounded by peace, joy and love," said President Elder.
SXU is grateful for its close-knit community and the opportunity to share in festive celebration during the joyous season.
