SXU to Host Arab Fest
Saint Xavier University (SXU) will host Arab Fest on Wednesday, October 19, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on the Schmitt Quad. Hosted by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and the Middle Eastern Studies program, the event will celebrate the food, music and culture of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The event will include a raffle, Henna booth, traditional Dabke dance performance, and more. Tables at the fest will exhibit traditional clothing, art and artifacts.
Attendees will be able to sample Arab cuisine from several MENA countries. All are welcome to attend to learn, celebrate and connect in community.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Butler Reception Room. For questions, please contact SJP president Esra Awadallah at awadallah.e01@mymail.sxu.edu or Dr. Iman Saca, director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program at sacaFREESXU.
