SXU Hosts Cougars in Technology Networking Event
Saint Xavier University (SXU) is dedicated to providing students with a wide range of opportunities to develop their leadership skills and recognize clear college-to-career pathways. Determined to not only prepare its students but help them to make lasting connections, SXU's Career Services invites students and alumni to take part in the Cougars in Technology networking night on Tuesday, February 26.
Hosted in the Butler Reception Room at 6:30 p.m., this event provides students the opportunity to network with a diverse group of SXU Computer Science alumni with expertise in a variety of fields. Attendees will learn about career choices, current industry trends and expectations for new graduates entering the workforce. Bonus stations to enhance LinkedIn profiles, receive free professional headshots and learn further ways to make individuals more appealing to potential employers will also be at the event.
At the start of the evening, a panel of alumni mentors coming from a wide range of fields and employers will be introduced before opening up for a short forum of questions. Following this, the panel will break out into networking tables and students will be able to network with attending alumni individually or in small groups.
The Career Services team is dedicated to preparing, educating and empowering students and alumni to explore opportunities, develop skills and make the connections necessary for life long career success. Events such as this are just one of many services offered to help students and alumni network with one another and to make informed career decisions. In partnership with SXU's computer science department that designs its programs to prepare students for careers and continued study in the rapidly changing computing field, the evening will connect students with working alumni in a range of technological fields.
The Cougars in Technology event will take place in the Butler Reception Room from 6:30 to 8 p.m. For further questions about the event or registering, please contact Jodi Martin at 773-298-3133 or malloymartinFREESXU.
