SXU To Host Best-Selling Author Luis Alberto Urrea

Saint Xavier University (SXU) will host the Josetta Butler Lecture on Monday, March 18 at 6 p.m. in the Fourth Floor Board Room in the Warde Academic Center, featuring best-selling author Luis Alberto Urrea.

Urrea is an English professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has published in nearly every genre, including nonfiction, memoir, short story, historical novels, poetry and an award-winning mystery story. Hailed by NPR as a "master storyteller with a rock and roll heart," Urrea is an acclaimed writer who uses his dual-cultural life experiences to explore the greater themes of loss, love and triumph. Urrea was a 2005 Pulitzer Prize finalist for nonfiction and is a member of the Latino Literature Hall of Fame.
