SXU Alumna Mary Hendry '67 Inducted to Mother McAuley Hall of Honor
Saint Xavier University (SXU) alumna and former Vice President for Enrollment Management Mary Cartan Hendry '67 will be among six women to be inducted into Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School's McAuley Hall of Honor on Sunday, April 7.
Hendry graduated from SXU -- then known as Saint Xavier College -- in 1967 with an English degree and again in 1985 with a graduate degree in education. She began her 44-year career in higher education as an admissions counselor for SXU where she served for 29 years, eventually rising to the role of Vice President for Enrollment Management in 1996. She would later join Roosevelt University as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, leading a division of 150 employees in the recruitment and retention of the school's student population. Her hard work through the years later earned her awards from the Illinois and National Association of College Admission Counseling.
In celebrating such a long and distinguished career, Hendry credits McAuley and SXU for helping her to develop long-lasting friendships, both with former classmates and the Sisters of Mercy, which have stood firm against the test of time.
