SXU alumna wins Bert Ellis Award
Saint Xavier University (SXU) is proud to announce that alumna Kathleen Dujsik is the 2018 recipient of the Bert Ellis Award.
Each year, the South Regional Board of Advisors of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago presents an award to recognize a board member who sets a standard for service, encourages a sustained commitment to participation and inspires others to make service to others a central focus in their lives.
Dujsik has served in numerous education and development positions for over 26 years, while still making time to serve on the board for Catholic Charities for six years. Dujsik helps lead and support multiple fundraising efforts, including the Catholic Charities annual South Holland Fall Food Drive. She continuously works towards serving those in need.
Dujsik received her Bachelor of Arts degree and a master's degree in Education from SXU. Always passionate about the work of Catholic Charities, she and her late husband, Police Officer Larry Dujsik, even adopted two children through Catholic Charities Adoption Services, Mark and Laura.
After teaching for the Archdiocese of Chicago for a number of years, Dujsik went on to work with several Catholic schools and completed her career as the Vice President of Development at Seton Academy in South Holland.
Through her continued dedication to service and giving back to others in her community, Dujsik is the perfect example of life-long dedication to SXU's core values.
Congratulations, Kathleen!
