Student Veterans Alliance Organizes Fundraiser for Memorial
The endless bravery and sacrifices made by our veterans are things to which we owe a great gratitude. Saint Xavier University is proud to honor our veterans in whatever ways possible, including ongoing participation in the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program. It is in that ongoing tradition of respect for our many men and women in uniform that the Student Veterans Alliance invite all to take part in the Student Veterans Memorial Fundraiser on Sunday, October 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street.
Veterans, family and friends are welcome to support the funding for the new memorial that will honor veterans and their service. Enjoy live musical entertainment, all-you-can-eat food and drink, door prizes and a raffle featuring autographed Chicago sports memorabilia, such as a poster signed by Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith and a puck signed by Blackhawks center Artem Anisimov. Student Veteran Alliance, in partnership with veteran-owned companies, generously donated gift baskets and an array of other items to be raffled off.
Proceeds from the event will fund the Student Veterans Memorial, which is planned to be erected this November. This is just one humble way to show support for all veterans and the selfless lives they lead in defense of our nation and our liberties.
