SXU's Abdul-Majid Wazwaz named 2017 Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher
Saint Xavier University (SXU) Department of Mathematics Professor Abdul-Majid Wazwaz was selected as a Thomson Reuters (Clarivate Analytics) Highly Cited Researcher for the fourth year in a row. As a result, he has been awarded four different badges for this honor, with "Web of Science" being his latest and highest research organizational badge.
Highly Cited Researchers represent some of the world's most influential scientific minds. According to the Thomson Reuters website, about three thousand researchers earn distinction to this annual list by writing the greatest number of reports - ranking among the top 1 percent most cited for their subject field and year of publication, earning them the mark of exceptional impact.
To be considered in this list depends on the number of citations by researchers other than the author. The number of citations increase daily, pending when a particular work has been cited.
"This means a lot to me because it shows that the achievements and the progress that I obtained in my works are useful and promising," said Prof. Wazwaz. "This also prompts me to pursue my professional development for the sake of making further progress. Hence why it is such an honor; when my own peers in the broader mathematical community depend on my research to help in theirs, it is a recognition that is beyond description."
Thomson Reuters's criteria weighed a variety of factors, including: citation counts of article(s), quality of research and the year of publication. More information about the list's ranking methodologies is available online.
Congratulations Professor Wazwaz on your accomplishment; keep making SXU proud!
