SXU hosted its 12th Annual Breakfast with your Legislators

Over 50 community members enjoyed a networking session and breakfast with Chicagoland elected officials at the 12th Annual Breakfast with your Legislators event on Thursday, November 30 at Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Chicago campus, 3700 West 103rd Street.

Elected officials in attendance included: State Senator Bill Cunningham; State Senator Mike Hastings; State Representative Kelly Burke; Cook County Board Commissioner John Daley; and Chicago Alderman Matt O'Shea. The panel discussion was moderated by former State Senator Edward D. Maloney.

Guests listened as elected officials answered questions from the audience about higher education institutions getting a reprieve of Monetary Award Program (MAP) funding and how the officials will address high-profile community crime. Additionally, the officials addressed their projections for the Illinois state budget for the next fiscal year and what initiations will be funded as a result.
