
SXU's Professor Meg Carroll presents at social workers conference
Saint Xavier University (SXU) Education Department Professor Meg Carroll, Ed.D., presented two half-day workshops on October 19 at the Illinois Association of School Social Workers Conference in Lisle. The morning session was entitled, "English Learners with Disabilities: Developing IEPs and Providing Culturally Responsive Social Work Services" and the afternoon session was entitled, "Executive Function and Social Functioning in Children and Adolescents."
On October 18, Dr. Carroll presented a workshop at Saint Therese Chinese Elementary School for parents: Supporting Your Child Emotionally. On October 25, she facilitated a workshop for teachers at Saint Joseph Elementary School in Elgin on Differentiating with Student Choice. On October 26, Dr. Carroll appeared on a panel with the topic of Restorative Justice for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
