Natural History of the Vertebrates: Field Experience
Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Department of Biological Sciences Professor Randolph Krohmer, Ph.D., Associate Professor Tatiana Tatum-Parker, Ph.D., and Associate Professor David Elmendorf, Ph.D., led a new, total immersion field course this past month. Interested students spent five days in early June at the Reis Biology Field Station (owned by Saint Louis University) located in the foothills of the Ozarks, 100 miles southwest of Saint Louis enjoying the great outdoors. The curriculum included canoeing, bird watching, nature hikes, a visit to Onondaga cave, animal collecting and identification, and many other events that exposed students to the abundant wildlife of the region.
