SXU's Meg Carroll conducted workshops at local area schools

Saint Xavier University's (SXU) School of Education Professor Meg Carroll, Ed.D. has conducted the following presentations and workshops at local area schools:
- Christ Our Savior on Friday, February 12, where she provided the full faculty and administration with a workshop on executive function, brain development, developmental sequence for executive function skills, and strategies for helping students develop effective executive function skills.
- STARNET on Wednesday, March 2, where Prof. Carroll demonstrated the use of the Illinois Early Learning Standards in preschool education while investigating topics in STEM. Participants experimented with hover crafts made of water bottle caps and used CDs powered by balloons and each participant made a weather vane that responded to the "wind" created by a box fan. This Feel the Wind presentation was made at the STARNET Region VI 9th annual conference at Lewis University in Romeoville.
- Holy Family Elementary School on Thursday, March 3, where she provided a workshop on disciplining with dignity. Teachers and the principal explored the principles of classroom management, focusing on positive behavior supports.
