OP-Ed Alert: SXU's Andrea Stapleton writes on Catholic Higher Education and the Church
Saint Xavier University's (SXU) Director of the Office of Mission Integration and Mercy Heritage Andrea Stapleton wrote an article in the Thursday, March 10 issue of the Daily Southtown. Her article discussed the relationship between Catholic higher education and the church; specifically, focusing on how Catholic identity in higher education has evolved. Additionally, Stapleton questions if the faith and values that were born from a strong affiliation with the church are diminishing, and if so, what impact implications happen to society in regards to civil discourse and social responsibility.
Stapleton holds a doctorate degree in theology from Loyola University in Chicago, a master's degree in theology from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and a bachelor's degree in psychology and education from the University of Iowa.
