As the country grieves over the terrible acts of violence that continue to plague our nation, one Saint Xavier University (SXU) alumnus, Mir Rizwan Ali, reflects on the incident in Florida during an interview with National Public Radio (NPR) from Illinois State University. During the interview, Ali mentions that despite the shooter's pledged allegiance to ISIS, he had very little understanding of Islam and is far from a "Muslim American."
