B.S. or B.A. in Secondary Education

The Secondary Education program at Saint Xavier University prepares candidates to teach in grades 9-12 or Pre-K-12 in Illinois schools. Completion of the program leads to a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts and prepares candidates to pursue an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in one of the following content areas: biology/science, English, mathematics, or social science.

SXU offers a variety of education endorsements designed to expand the expertise of teacher candidates and practicing educators. Among these are endorsements in Special Education and English as a Second Language (ESL), which require 18 credit hours to complete.
