Bilingual Education Endorsement

The Bilingual Education endorsement prepares candidates to teach emergent bilingual students in bilingual education, dual language, and TWI programs. The endorsement attaches to a teaching license at the grade level of the license. Candidates need to pass a state language proficiency test in one or more world languages for this endorsement. When taken at the graduate level, these courses can be used toward the M.A. in Education TESOL. Candidates will gain 100 hours of field experience in this endorsement; teachers who have taught on a valid license for three months in a classroom including English Learners will be granted a waiver for these field hours. Undergraduates will earn the endorsement as well as a minor in Bilingual Education.
