Biography

Rola Othman currently serves as the director of client services in the Information Technology department and adjunct faculty for computer science at Saint Xavier University. In addition to providing an effective and efficient technology environment to support teaching, learning and University administrative functions, Othman co-chairs a branch of the Strategic Plan Action Committee as well as the Culture of Service Excellence Committee.

Othman also spends her time advancing the efforts of Strive 2025 -- a strategic plan the university adopted this past year -- and manages, engages and supports the service excellence standards and philosophy on campus. During her tenure, she developed the technology student workforce, which oversees more than 35 student workers each semester and cultivates a generation of employable graduates.

Othman earned her doctorate from Benedictine University with a focus on higher education and organizational change. Her research focuses on the female technology leader (chief information officer or CIO) in higher education. She recently launched the "Girls Who Code" program at Saint Xavier, promoting computer science to girls from grades three through twelve.
