Student Visa Information
A form I-20 that is required for the F-1 student visa will be issued to admitted students upon receipt of the $100.00 tuition deposit. Typically, I-20 forms are issued beginning in June for the fall semester and in October for the spring semester. Upon receipt of the I-20 form, students are encouraged to apply for the student visa immediately.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires a $200.00 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee be paid before applying for a student visa. This fee can be paid to the DHS through a mail-in procedure or via the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement website.
For current F-1 visa holders transferring to Saint Xavier University, the international admission specialist will issue a SEVIS transfer form upon receipt of the $100.00 tuition deposit. This form should be completed by the Designated School Official (DSO) at the institution the student is currently attending. That DSO will then transfer the student's SEVIS record to the international admission specialist at Saint Xavier University. F-1 transfer students will not be able to begin classes at Saint Xavier until the SEVIS record is transferred.
