Citation Tools

EasyBib

EasyBib is a great tool for citing your work. Search for books or insert citations manually. The list and format is generated for you and saved as a Word Document when exported. Note: Check format regulations within your courses to be sure they line up with the format settings.

Purdue OWL

Purdue OWL is the top site to find formatting answers to MLA, APA, Chicago Style, and all other formats. Citations, in text quoting, and general format rules are all explained with examples. Sample papers are provided for viewing.

Canvas Conferences

Using your Canvas account, access Canvas Conferences to create online conference calls to communicate with your peers outside of school. The tool is free and accessible to all SXU students.

Dropbox

Dropbox is a file folder that can be accessed on any device. Once a device is registered with Dropbox, any changes automatically sync. You can share Dropboxes with several people, all having access to the file folder.

Google Docs

With a Google account you can create

Google Docs that can be shared with others. It is possible to edit the same document with multiple users at the same time. You can also create and share spreadsheets and slides using Google.

Stormboard

Stormboard is a tool useful for group brainstorming. Create "storms" with the given templates and invite others to join the "storm.

" Group members can place virtual sticky notes upon the chosen template.

Trello

With Trello you can create a board where you and members can organize projects and keep track of what is complete. The website is free and easy to use. It is also available on iOS and Android.

Docs.zone

With Docs.zone you can convert any files to PDF, Word, Excel, or Images. No software needs to be downloaded, simply upload the files.

CloudConvert

Use this tool to convert any files to any needed format. The conversions can be mailed to you or saved in your CloudConvert or Dropbox folder.

Glogster

Glogster is a website where users create multimedia posters. You can add text, images, audio and videos to your "glog." This tool is useful for creating presentations or as a space to brainstorm and save ideas in one location.

Prezi

Prezi is a contemporary presentation creator. Signing up is not free but the website offers a seven day free trail and a discount is given when signing up with a school address.

SlideShare

SlideShare is a free slideshow presentation creator. It has themes to choose from and allows you to load your own pictures from any domain such as your computer, Facebook, and Instagram.

Weebly

Weebly is a free website creator, filled with templates to choose from. It is both easy to use and visually pleasing. Once published, your website can be accessed by anyone at anytime.

Wix

Wix is a free website creator, providing hundreds of template themes. Websites are easy to create and the provided templates can be personalized. Wix also is available as an application on Android devices.

Animoto is an online video presentation creator. The tool is not free but a free trial is offered. Customize your videos using templates and themes to create a quality video.

Jing

Using Jing you can capture a video or screenshot of your computer screen. It is useful for creating tutorials. The screenshots and videos are easy to share through email, Facebook, Twitter and other places.

Vcasmo

With Vcasmo you can upload a video or audio file, add slides or subtitles, and format the presentation. Once finished the presentation will have an HTML, which can be placed into websites or slide show presentations. This tool is also available as an application on iOS.
