SXU-Southside Summer Jazz Camp

 

The Saint Xavier University Music Department is pleased to announce that its Ninth Annual SXU-Southside Summer Jazz Camp will be held this summer from July 22-26, 2024 from 3 to 7 p.m.

The SXU-Southside Summer Jazz Camp is an opportunity for student musicians to improve on their musical abilities, nurture a love for jazz, and meet new friends. Students of all levels of experience are encouraged to attend, regardless of whether they are new to jazz or looking to their expanding their horizons, there is something for everyone.

The 2024 SXU-Southside Summer Jazz Camp is open to students in sixth grade through 12th grade. The SXU-Southside Jazz Camp welcomes all instruments including trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, string bass, guitar, vibraphone, and drums, as well as non-traditional jazz instruments.

The camp includes daily rehearsals on jazz repertoire, instrumental sectionals, improvisation master-classes, jam sessions, guest concerts, and music theory workshops. Students will showcase their talents at the final concert on July 26, 2024.

Registration

The SXU-Southside Summer Jazz Camp welcomes students of all instruments, including trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, string bass, guitar, vibraphone and drums. The cost of attending is $120 per student. Refund Policy

Cancellations made 14 days prior to the camp start date will receive a refund less a 25% administrative fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than 14 days prior to the camp start date. In the event the camp is canceled by SXU, a full refund will be provided. In order to request a refund, please send an email with the subject line "Refund Request" to summercampsFREESXU.
