Do you have any advice for a student transferring into SXU?
Get involved. It is never too late to become a part of Cougar Nation. The more you do, the more you will get out of your time here and the opportunities that result in the future. Joining groups, attending events and interacting with others will make your experience so much better.
What was the best class you took at Saint Xavier and why?
The best class I took at SXU was EDUGC 546: Internship, School Counseling. This class required me to work in a school as a guidance counselor. The real life events I encountered were far more helpful and memorable than anything I could have read in my books. I enjoyed being in the field and gaining experiential knowledge while having the opportunity to discuss it all with a professor, working professionals and fellow students.
What do you do for fun?
I love being active and trying new things. Whether it's an adventure, food or travel I am always looking to expand my horizons. I work out regularly and play softball with friends every summer. This past year I tried skydiving and ziplining.
What is one thing you want all students to know about Saint Xavier?
SXU is very special in that it provides students with a 'best of both worlds' college experience. Saint Xavier is housed in a tight-knit neighborhood but close to downtown Chicago, has small classes while providing big opportunities and maintains a diverse student body with unity and values. Being a student here allows for an unmatchable education.
Do you have a favorite spot to go on campus?
My favorite spot to go on campus is the Smith-Morris Quad, located behind the Warde Academic Center. Its central location, beautiful scenery and exceptional setup make it the perfect spot to study, snack and relax outside.
