Illinois Monetary Award Program (MAP) Grant: A state-funded grant program for undergraduate students who meet Illinois residency requirements and demonstrate financial need. Award amounts are based on the number of credit hours in which a student enrolls each semester. MAP grants are limited based on the number of applicants and funding levels appropriated by the Illinois General Assembly. Please be aware that in light of state funding constraints, reductions to estimated or actual MAP grants are possible. The current maximum award amount is $4,720.
Minority Teachers of Illinois Scholarship Program: A state-funded scholarship for designated minority students enrolled at least part-time in a teacher education program or seeking initial teacher certification. Must maintain a grade-point average of 2.5. A teaching commitment is required, and, if not satisfied, the scholarship converts to a loan. $5,000 per year maximum.
Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program: A state-funded scholarship, administered by the Golden Apple Foundation. Students are nominated by teachers, counselors, principals, or themselves. A teaching commitment is required, and, if not satisfied, the scholarship converts to a loan. Award amounts range from $2500 - $5000, depending on academic level.
