Hand Held

Hand Held, a Film by Don Hahn

"A guy with a camera, four hundred thousand orphans,a twenty-year odyssey that changed their lives forever."

Saint Xavier University recently hosted the Chicago premiere of "Hand Held," a documentary about Pulitzer Prize-nominated photographer Mike Carroll's journey into Romania after the fall of Communism, and what he found when he arrived-- tens of thousands of orphaned children.

Carroll and producer Don Hahn, who produced Disney's "The Lion King," spoke with Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun-Times on the set of FOX Chicago's "Good Day Chicago" on April 1, 2011, and visited with Kim Vatis on the set of NBC 5 Chicago Saturday morning on April 2, 2011.

The film was screened at SXU's McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St., on April 2, 2011.
