Communication Sciences and Disorders Career Resources

Posted below are resources to guide you in exploring careers and searching for opportunities in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. There is a high demand for speech-language pathologists, but in order to attain licensure and practice as one, you must earn a master's degree in speech-language pathology.

Since the number of graduate speech-language pathology programs is very limited, admission to those programs is competitive. Therefore, in order to distinguish yourself as an applicant and improve your chances of gaining admission into a graduate school program, it is highly recommended before your senior year to complete volunteer and/or part-time work experiences in which you serve special needs clients or in which you work in a therapeutic environment. Consider meeting with a Career Services representative to discuss how to secure those kinds of meaningful opportunities.
