The Dean Beverly Gulley Scholarship is open to undergraduate students in the Education Department (formerly known as the School of Education). This scholarship is funded by a gift from Dr. Beverly Gulley's husband, Dr. Gerry Gulley. This is the first year that the scholarship will be awarded.
The Dean Beverly Gulley Scholarship Committee will honor the memory of the late Dean Beverly Gulley by selecting a student who exemplifies the qualities of hospitality and lifelong learning. All undergraduate students in the Saint Xavier University Education Department are eligible to submit an application. The grant is applied towards tuition in the following academic year.
Exact amount of tuition grants depends on available funds from endowments and individual student's account status. Please check with Financial Aid before applying.
- Applicants must complete the online application form below. The two letters of recommendation must emailed by the writers directly to Dr. Meg Carroll. Complete applications will include the application form, the essay, two letters of recommendation and a resume. Only complete applications will be reviewed.
- Applicants must have a GPA of 2.8 or better.
- Applicants must submit an essay (double-spaced, one to two pages). Please provide specific examples of how you embrace the values of hospitality and lifelong learning and how they relate to your plans for working in the field of education.
- Two letters of recommendation are required. The letters of recommendation should refer to the values of hospitality and lifelong learning and should be emailed directly by the writers to Dr. Meg Carroll at firstname.lastname@example.org by 5 p.m. on February 23, 2018.
