Guitar Ensemble and Saxophone Quartet concert May 4
Saint Xavier ensembles perform together
Chicago (April 25, 2007) – The Saint Xavier University Guitar Ensemble and Saxophone Quartet will perform together at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4 in the Butler Reception Room of the Warde Academic Center, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
Under the direction of adjunct professor Frederick Miller, the Guitar Ensemble will perform Leo Brouwer’s Cuban Landscape with Rain; Luigi Boccherini’s Introduction et Fandango; and four Danses de Terpsichore by Michael Praetorius.
Under the direction of adjunct professor Lara Regan, the Saxophone Quartet will perform Johann Christian Bach’s Sinfonia No. 3, Joshua Rodriguez’s Medieval Night; Irish Suite arranged by Elliot Del Borgo; and Ain’t Misbehavin’ by Fats Waller.
Admission to the concert is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for all SXU students, faculty and staff with a valid University ID. For more information, please contact the Saint Xavier University music department at (773) 298-3421.
