SXU student musicians to perform in Honors Recital concert on March 30

Three students selected to perform

Chicago (March 13, 2007) – Three Saint Xavier University music students will perform at an Honors Recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, in Saint Xavier’s McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

The concert will feature three students selected to perform by Saint Xavier’s music department. Senior bassoon and piano performance major Alexis Janners, of  Park Forest, will perform the second movement (“Romanza:Andantino e cantabile”) from Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s Grand Concerto for Bassoon, and three piano pieces from Romeo and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev. Sophomore vocal performance major Kojelyte Johnson, of Evergreen Park, will perform Mandoline, Notre Amour, Le Secret and Fleur Jeteé by Gabriel Flauré. Sophomore vocal and piano performance major Andrea Caruso of Canton, Mich., will perform the first movement of Beethoven’s Tempest Sonata.  

Admission to the concert is $6 for adults, and $5 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for Saint Xavier University students, faculty and staff with a valid ID. For more information, please contact the Saint Xavier University music department at (773) 298-3421.
