Guitar Ensemble performs concert Dec. 9
SXU students and professor perform
Chicago (Nov. 22, 2006) – Saint Xavier University’s Guitar Ensemble will present a concert under the direction of adjunct professor Frederick Miller at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, in McGuire Hall, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.
Music to be performed includes Mysterious Barricades by Francois Couperin, Danzas Espanolas No. 11 and 12 by Enrique Granados, Sarabande & Variations by George F. Handel, and movements by Claudio Monteverdi and Peter Tchaikovsky.
An adjunct guitar professor at Saint Xavier, Miller will also perform with the ensemble. He received a master of music degree from DePaul University and is currently pursuing a doctor of musical arts degree at the University of Illinois.
The concert is open to the public. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for SXU students, faculty and staff with a valid University ID. For more information, please contact the Saint Xavier University music department at (773) 298-3421.
