SXU Concert Band scheduled to perform Dec. 5
Band performs at Beverly Arts Center
Chicago (Nov. 20, 2006) – Enjoy an evening with the Saint Xavier University Concert Band at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago.
Under the direction of Erik Janners, D.M.A., director of bands and professor of percussion at Saint Xavier University, the Concert Band incorporates a variety of music for all University wind and percussion performers. The program will include Toccata Marziale by Vaughan Williams, “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” by Wagner/Cailliet, New World Dances by Ellerby, “Profanation” by Bernstein/Bencriscutto, Mystic Chords of Memory by Jager, Variants on a Mediaeval Tune by Dello Joio, and Spartacus by Van der Roost.
The concert is open to the public. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for all Saint Xavier students, faculty and staff with a valid University ID.
