Saint Xavier to offer non-credit Irish Studies program at Orland Park Campus
Program starts in January
Chicago (Nov. 17, 2006) – Saint Xavier University will offer a non-credit Irish Studies program starting in spring 2007. Students will explore Ireland’s heritage through an interdisciplinary program of history, the Gaelic language, literature, art, film and music.
Saint Xavier, which traces its roots to the Sisters of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland, will offer the four-course, non-credit certificate program at its Orland Park Campus through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
“Chicago’s Irish community has played a key role in defining this amazing city,” said Leslie Petty, Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. “This program is a tremendous opportunity to explore the region’s Irish heritage.”
