Graduating seniors showcase projects in range of fields
Fourth annual Honors Program Conference to be held April 29
Chicago (April 6, 2006) – Graduating seniors will present the culmination of their senior projects at this year’s Honors Program Conference from 9 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, at Saint Xavier University’s Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St.
The event showcases the research and creative projects of Honors seniors who began the work in their junior year. The projects formulate and interrogate issues from a wide spectrum of disciplines, including accounting, marketing, Spanish, philosophy, political science, psychology, communication sciences and disorders, mass communication, biology, religious studies, English, and education. The event represents the culmination of the four-year Honors Program for these students.
The public is invited to attend the conference and learn about everything from the crime-fighting capacities of maggots to the apparent collusion of the Food and Drug Administration with the pharmaceutical industry.
Sessions in Rooms S-101 and S-113 of the Warde Academic Center will run concurrently from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and from 10:45 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. A luncheon and awards ceremony will be held in the Butler Reception Room immediately following the sessions.
