Public invited to Saint Xavier University's 3rd annual Health Fair
Free screenings, health assessments and information available
Chicago (March 9, 2006) – Free screenings, health assessments and information are available at Saint Xavier University’s third annual Health Fair from 8 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at the university’s Shannon Center, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago. The fair is free and open to the public.
“The Saint Xavier University Health Fair is a great way to receive free healthy assessments and information from organizations and businesses all within the local community,” said Jennifer Kjos, facility manager of Saint Xavier University’s Shannon Center.
Neighborhood vendors will be at the fair to share health information with the community, including the Saint Xavier University Health Center, Little Company of Mary Hospital, Christ Hospital Cardiac Rehab Center, OccuSport Physical Therapy, Greenwood Chiropractic Care Center, American Cancer Society, and Running for Kicks. Health-related books will be available for purchase at 40 percent off in the university bookstore.
Those attending the fair can take advantage of free screening and testing services for blood pressure, blood glucose, hemoglobin test, pulse oximetry, skin cancer screening, foot screening, hearing screening, flexibility testing, and shoe assessment screening. A body fat screening is available for $15 per person, and cholesterol screenings cost $12 per person.
