Saint Xavier students perform scenes from operas
Performance spotlights student vocal talents
Chicago (March 2, 2006) – Saint Xavier University vocal talents will perform various solos and scenes from well-known operas on Saturday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. in McGuire Hall, located on the Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St.
The performance will be directed by Erin Wieneke, an adjunct professor of voice, and accompanied by well-known Chicago pianist Daniel Surma, an adjunct professor of piano at Saint Xavier University. Saint Xavier voice students Kojelyté Johnson, Kathryn Mantoan and Mary Lynn Valentin will perform from operas such as Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas,” Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale,” Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” and Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief.”
Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and visiting students. Admission is free for Saint Xavier students, faculty and staff with a valid university ID. For more information, please contact the Saint Xavier University Music Department at (773) 298-3421.
