Saint Xavier University presents Jazz Band concert
Jazz Band set to perform on Nov. 14 at the Beverly Arts Center
Chicago (Nov. 1, 2005) –Saint Xavier University’s Jazz Band will present its fall concert on Monday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St.
The performance will feature two contemporary pieces by Grammy nominee Gordon Goodwin, “Count Bubba” and “Swingin’ for the Fences.” In addition, jazz singer and Saint Xavier music student Mary Louise Peterson will be joining the band on several classic ballads.
The Jazz Band, currently directed by Dr. Erik Janners, is a 20-member ensemble that is committed to jazz education, musical variety and excellence in performance.
This concert is the Jazz Band’s first performance at the Beverly Arts Center. Admission is free for all Saint Xavier University students, faculty and staff with and ID. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and visiting students.
