Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education names Saint Xavier a ‘Publisher’s Pick’
CHICAGO (Dec. 17, 2004) – The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education magazine has chosen Saint Xavier University as one of its 2004 “Publisher’s Picks.”
The magazine considers Saint Xavier one of the best universities nationwide for attracting and serving Hispanic students. Saint Xavier is among “colleges and universities with a solid record of record of recruiting, enabling and graduating Hispanic students,” wrote the magazine’s publisher, José Lopez-Isa, in the Nov. 29 issue of the magazine.
Saint Xavier was one of a total of 564 institutions from 41 states to be selected as a Publishers Picks. The magazine also featured the university in a two-page spread on Saint Xavier’s high retention rates of Hispanic students.
The first-year retention of Hispanic students at Saint Xavier has increased from 69 percent in 1995 to 82 percent in 2002 and last year exceeded those of all other ethnic groups.
