National Weather Service issues blizzard warning

Check SXU web site for updates at noon about canceling classes, closing campus

Chicago (Feb. 1, 2011) The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the Chicago area. NWS says the storm should arrive Tuesday (Feb. 1) afternoon and continue through Wednesday. White-out conditions are expected Tuesday night, with snowfall rates of at least 2 to 3 inches per hour possible with winds of 25 to 40 mph. Snowfall totals in excess of 18 inches are possible.

Saint Xavier University will monitor the forecast and make any determinations about canceling classes and closing campus. This information will be shared with the campus community via text messaging, email, sxu.edu, Twitter and Facebook.  PLEASE CHECK THE SAINT XAVIER WEBSITE AT NOON FOR A FURTHER UPDATE.
