Prayer Book
In 2007, a committee of staff, faculty and students, under the direction of Eileen
Doherty, director of Campus Ministry, gathered prayers for the first edition Saint
Xavier University prayer book, Via, Veritas, Vita. The title of the prayer book, Latin for “Way, Truth, Life,” is taken from the Saint
Xavier University Seal and conveys the true meaning of prayer: the search for the
way, the truth and the life. The prayer book represents the diversity of faith traditions
present in the University community. Included in the collection are traditional Catholic,
Jewish, Muslim and Hindu prayers, as well as original compositions from staff, faculty
and students.
The prayer book, distributed to students, faculty and staff at various events throughout the year, is also available for download in PDF format.
