Schedule of Events

Sunday, September 21: Homecoming Liturgy and Spirit of Saint Xavier Awards

11:00 a.m., McDonough Chapel of the Mother of Mercy

Join the Saint Xavier community as we gather for the Liturgy of the Word, which will include a blessing for the recipients of the Spirit of Saint Xavier Awards -- alumni who in word and deed exemplify Saint Xavier University’s Core Values of respect, excellence, compassion, service, hospitality, integrity, diversity and learning for life

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2014 SXU National Alumni Association Spirit of Saint Xavier Awards:

Monday, September 22: S.T.A.T. Brown Bag Project

6:00 p.m., SXU Diner Atrium

In the spirit of our Mercy heritage, alumni, students, staff and faculty are invited help us prepare lunches for local shelters and organizations who serve our neighbors in need. Donations of peanut butter, jelly, snacks and juice pouches are always appreciated. If you would like to donate a product or a monetary donation to offset the cost of this project, please contact  Alumni and Parent Relations at alumni@sxu.edu or 773-298-3316.

Tuesday, September 23: Academic Distinguished Alumni and the O'Brien Student Leadership Awards

6:30 p.m., Butler Reception Room

Members of the SXU community will honor those alumni and students whose words and actions emulate the operating ethos of Saint Xavier University.

Calling all staff, faculty, alumni and SXU senior students! Let's get Happy at Our Homecoming Celebration.  Includes complimentary appetizers and beverages.

Celebration Dinner for Benefactors and Scholars

6:00 p.m. Butler Reception Room 

Saint Xavier University is proud to host the Celebration Dinner for Benefactors and Scholars during Homecoming 2014. This annual event gives the University community an opportunity to honor and thank the many donors whose generosity provides vital funds to establish and sustain scholarship support for our students. The University also looks forward to recognizing our outstanding student scholarship recipients, who are the beneficiaries of these scholarships.

**Celebration Dinner attendance is by invitation only. 

Thursday, September 25: Comics for Cougars

Comics for CougarsShannon Athletic Center Auxiliary Gymnasium 
7:00 p.m. Reception 
8:00 p.m. Performance

Local comedians, Pat McGann (Late Night with David Letterman) and WGN news personalities, Ana Belaval and Mike Toomey, join SXU alumni and friends as we LOL in honor of Homecoming 2014!

$35 p/p (21+)  includes show admission, light appetizers and refreshments. (Cash bar). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support SXU student scholarships.

Guests will also enjoy a sample of our "1846 Red" a smooth, red lager brewed exclusively for Saint Xavier University by Neil Byers, owner of Horse Thief Hollow Restaurant and Brewery.

Saturday, September 27: Homecoming Day

Cougar 5K Run/Walk

9:00 a.m., Smith Morris Quad

Join alumni, students, parents and friends of SXU in the 14th Annual Cougar 5K Run/Walk. All participants receive a long sleeve t-shirt, refreshments and a ticket to the football game upon request. The course starts and finishes on the campus and runs through Evergreen Park. Register today!

Homecoming Tailgate VIP tent!

12:00 p.m., Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field

We're not just hosting the reunion years that end in  9 or  4 ... we welcome all alumni back for a celebration of Saint Xavier and without U it won't be a party! Alumni and Parent Relations hopes senior students and parents will also join us for an opportunity to watch the game from the tent.

$15 p/p (21+) includes admission to the tent, hot dogs, chips, snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support SXU student scholarships.  Children are free.

SXU Football Vs. University of Saint Francis (Ill.)

1:00 p.m., Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field

It's sure to be an exciting match as our SXU Cougars face off against the University of Saint Francis. All alumni who register at the SXU Alumni Hospitality Tent will be given free admission to the game!

Immediately following the game head over to Gilhooley's for a 5th quarter celebration and an awesome finale to Homecoming 2014!

Class Volunteer

Interested in gathering a group of classmates for a reunion? Become a Class Volunteer!

Join in the fun by becoming an official class volunteer. Work with Alumni and Parent Relations and the SXU National Alumni Board to reach out to members of your class year and help plan Homecoming activities for fellow classmates.
