About the Counselor
What was your major in college, and why did you choose it? How has it helped you do your job at SXU?
In undergrad, my major was sociology. I chose it because I enjoy gaining the understanding of people and how society work. Understanding the many barriers that our society creates for marginalized groups aids me in advocating for students while working here at SXU.
Why do you like your job?
I love my job because I know that I am in a place to help students achieve the goals that they have set for themselves. Many students want to go to college and really need support while they are there. SXU provides A LOT of support for our students. I am very delighted to work at such a place. It makes it easy to encourage students to attend SXU!
What do you do for fun?
I like to hang out with friends and family, eat good food, shop and travel!
What is your favorite season in Chicago, and why?
Summer! There are a lot of events and festivals that go on in the summer. I love the heat and I enjoy being outside. I function off of sunlight.
Cubs or Sox?
I do not watch baseball, but my grandfather would be disappointed in me if I did not say the Cubs!
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Anything with cookies, caramel or chocolate.
Favorite day of the week, and why?
I treat every day like a weekend, so every day is my favorite day of the week!
