Academic Success Workshops
Student Affairs staff have designed these informative academic skills workshops to support the educational needs of Saint Xavier students. Workshops are 50 minutes and no registration is required (exceptions are noted). Students may bring a meal or snack.
Students, faculty or staff may request a presentation of any of these workshops during the academic year. The presentations may be tailored for an entire class or for a small group (four or more individuals). Additional topics are also available.

| Reading for Meaning | January 29 | 2:30 p.m. | Are you struggling to comprehend what you read and stay awake in class? If so, come to this workshop to learn how to manage your reading load and comprehend the information in your textbook and from lectures. | 4th Floor Boardroom |
| Time Management | January 30 | 2:00 p.m. | Do you ever feel that time is passing faster and faster each day and the only thing you are trying to do is keep up with it? If so, learn some techniques on planning, managing and prioritizing your time. Let us help you better manage your time and become a better student. | WAC L-325 |
| Test Taking Tips/Test Anxiety | January 31 | 3:30 p.m. | Essay, multiple choice, true/false -- wondering where to begin? This workshop will address tips for how to approach a test. (Yes, there is more than one way to approach a test!) Knowing these tips can reduce test anxiety and build your confidence! | WAC L-321 |

| Stress Management | Feruary 5 | 3:30 p.m. | Life is stressful. Life as a college student is even more so. Don’t let stress catch you off-guard. Come to our workshop and we’ll tackle stress head-on, learning techniques that will let you beat stress at its own game. | WAC L-325 |
| Learning Styles/College Study Skills | February 7 | 3:00 p.m. | This workshop is designed to help you develop a clear understanding of specific strategies needed to improve your study skills. It will help you learn and adopt effective study habits. You will develop confidence and motivation for personal management of your own academic success. | Butler Reception Room |

| Save Your Semester | April 9 | 3:30 p.m. | There are only a few weeks before final exams. If you’re not satisfied with your performance in classes, perhaps it’s time for new strategies. This overview of techniques for managing time, reading texts, attending lectures, taking notes and taking tests will focus on specific strategies for immediate use. | WAC S-201 |
