Regina Garrity is an adjunct professor in the Music Department and instructs a special topics course called "Music of Ireland." Garrity is originally from Ireland, where she received her undergraduate degree in engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She earned her master's degree in arts of teaching from Dominican University, Riverforest, in 2009.
Music has been an intrinsic part of Garrity's life. Throughout her elementary and high school years, she learned a number of instruments and performed in countless performance exams and competitions. Garrity formerly established her own School of Music where she inspired students of all ages to learn and perform Irish music.
Garrity currently performs in the traditional Irish group known as "The Dirty Wellies." She is one of five members in the band and plays the piano accordion. Garrity is also a middle school teacher at Worth Junior High. To conclude, she is an educator at heart with a lifelong passion and appreciation for music.
